syd owen
423 Appearances, 3 Goals (1947-1959)
Joining Town at the age of 25 from his local club Birmingham, Syd would go on to become a leading figure in one of the club's most successful periods, winning international recognition with England and skippering the Hatters in the 1959 FA Cup final.
While his time in the managerial seat at Kenilworth Road would end in disappointment, he'd experience far greater success a coach at Leeds United. Syd retired in 1982 and died in 1998.

VIV BUSBY
86 Appearances, 16 Goals (1970-1973)
Starting at his hometown club Wycombe Wanderers, Viv caught the attention of Town manager Alec Stock who signed him in January 1970 and his place in Hatters' folklore was cemented by scoring the all-important goal against Southport which virtually assured promotion to Division Two.
Moving into scouting, coaching and managing after his playing days ended, Viv sadly passed away in May 2024.

Hatters’ Heritage is a charity whose aim is to preserve the heritage and history of Luton Town Football Club.The Heritage Lottery Fund enabled us to launch the website which we believe is the most comprehensive of any club in the country.
Whilst we benefit from the unpaid work of volunteers, we need funds to pay for hosting and maintaining the website, insurance of the memorabilia collection and various licenses such as Adobe. We also need to build up a fund to purchase important memorabilia.
